These guidebooks are a collection of classic excursions across some of the best known natural wonders in North America.
My objective in these volumes is to explain to the curious layman, the interested general public, the rock hound, the student, and the geologist what you are looking at, how it came to be, and why it is important. Along the way, we add historical context, discuss what makes a great wine, say a word or two about the resources of an area, and point out interesting fossil and mineral locations.
These geological tour guides to classic and not-so-well-known areas are meant to educate and entertain. A fuller understanding of natural formations should enhance the traveler’s experience beyond simple sightseeing.
